Are Korean Martial Arts just a form of Japanese Martial arts?

I was browsing trough this site and I saw Kumdo was a form of Kendo, Tang Soo Do a form of Karate, I also saw various forms of Judo...
Also, Korea and Japan are placed one next to the other...
Maybe the Japanese influenced their martial arts, so the Korean Martial Arts are only variations of the Japanese ones. I don't know for sure, but this has certainly got me thinking.
What do you think about it?
