How to be an unarmed combat instructor for rookies?

Just wanna share a few cents worth of how the selection system works in my country. Feel free to share your experience as an unarmed combat instructor as well. ')

Here goes my tales...

Basically to be an unarmed combat instructor, I don't think they need high qualifications of martial arts, though it'll really help.

In auditions, they dont ask for much in technique wise. I think all they want to see is aggressiveness which is really really dumb. all you have to do is shout at the top of your lungs and throw moves that are really aggressive. i.e: you do 720 side kick perfectly also they don't care. If you are not aggressive enough, you screwed the selection.

They also look out for more practical moves, instead of fancy taekwondo kicks which are more common in traditional styles of martial arts. In simple terms, street fight.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!~!

^^ I cracked up.
Here in Brazil, if you are asian, chances are you won't need any abilities to be an instructor. You just have to stand there pretending you are Bruce Lee while your 1st dan works for free. Everyone will think you are a god. lol

Lol! :)) Now that's unusual. But why do you have to be aggressive? :P
In order to scare away all your potential students? I think that's dumb, no offense!

Some people love the tough guy prototype.
They want to tell their friends "My instructor can kick your instructor's ass"

That's a good point you have there.
But wouldn't it be normal to want to tell instead "I can kick your ass because my instructor taught me better than yours"?

Well, yeah, but they usually cannot :S
It lies n the same "braggers fooling themselves" place.

Well, fools will be fools.
I'm not going to lie to you, I like to brag sometimes too, who doesn't :P
But I prefer to brag about things that I can do or that I really did. This way, you'll never be humiliated.

Others, who do not think like me, go to dojo's where they get yelled at by a professional instructor like the ones above :))
